About Red Hat Company

Red Hat, Inc. is an American multinational software company providing open source software products to the enterprise community. Founded in 1993, Red Hat has its corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, with other offices worldwide. It became a subsidiary of IBM on July 9, 2019.
Red Hat has become associated to a large extent with its enterprise operating system Red Hat Enterprise Linux. With the acquisition of open-source enterprise middle-ware vendor JBoss, Red Hat also offers Red Hat Virtualization (RHV), an enterprise virtualization product. Red Hat provides storage, operating system platforms, middle-ware, applications, management products, and support, training, and consulting services.

Red Hat company offers different level of certification programs. Certifications can be validated through Red Hat webpage, and expire after 3 years.

Red Hat System Administration (RHCSA)
Red Hat System Administration is designed for IT professionals without previous Linux System administration experience. The course is intended to prove students with Linux administration "survival skill" by focusing on core administration task. Red Hat System Administration also provide a foundation for student planning to become full-time Linux system administrators by introducing key command-line concepts and enterprise-level tools.
Course Objectives
  • Gain sufficient skill to perform core system administration task on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Build foundational skill needed by an RHCSA - certified Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administrator.Red Hat Certified Engineer)

Red Hat Certified Engineer(RHCE)
The Red Hat Certified Engineer course will prepare you for the certification exam from Red Hat. This certification is intended to be earned by a current Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA). This course will prepare you for the performance based certification exam by Red Hat that is intended to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and experience as a senior system administrator that is responsible for Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
Course Objectives
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is a leading certification course for Linux network administrators who configure networking services and security on servers running a Red Hat Operating System.

Red Hat Certified Architect(RHCA)
To earn RHCA certification, you must demonstrate a depth and breadth of knowledge across Red Hat technologies. You must pass any five of the higher-level exams for Red Hat Certificates of Expertise and/or associated RHCA prerequisite certifications.
Course Objectives
  • Only current RHCEs are eligible to be certified as RHCAs, while anyone can attend the courses or take exams in this track.
  • Though the courses are not required (tests can be taken separately), they are strongly recommended. 
  
Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA)
RHCVA is a certification that focuses on Virtualization administration. To achieve the RHCVA certification the student must pass EX318, a 3-hour hands-on lab exam. There is no prerequisite for the exam, but Red Hat recommends preparing for the exam by taking the respective course, RH318, and by obtaining the RHCSA certification described above. The exam also requires knowledge in using and installing Microsoft Windows operating systems. RHCVA was Launched in November 2009.
Course Objectives
  • In this certification focuses on the Virtualization administration  
  • responsible for managing enterprise servers who are interested in learning how to manage large numbers of servers or virtual machines using Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization.

JBoss Certified Application Administrator (JBCAA)
JBCAA is a certification that focuses on managing the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform.To achieve the JBCAA certification the student must pass EX248, a four-hour hands-on lab exam. There is no prerequisite for the exam, but Red Hat recommends preparing for the exam by taking course JB248, a four-day course in JBoss application administration. JBCAA was Launched in September 2009.
Course Objectives
  • The JBCAA Exam (EX248) is a performance-based exam that tests your knowledge and skills to install, configure, monitor, manage, and deploy applications to JBoss® Enterprise Application Platform.
  • JBCAA certification is for system administrators or application developers whose responsibilities include the deployment, implementation, and management of JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and its applications.
